Synopsis

Dawn Dusk follows Chelli Look, a leather bag designer and artist, as she journeys through a distinct season in her life. It is 10 years since her sister’s murder by her brother-in-law and her latest collection called “Dawn Dusk” is about to release. Through it all she is processing and wrestling with how to honor her sister’s legacy and the weight of running a business while remaining an artist at heart, all while trying to live out forgiveness and freedom from the burden of revenge for her sister’s husband and murderer. After losing her sister and her best friend, two people who helped shape her in her youth, her search for her own identity and creative voice is ever evolving.

Rich interwoven interviews, verité scenes and whimsical visuals feature Chelli as she moves through critical moments of this season, including a feature in Chicago Woman Magazine, a sabbatical to Florence, Italy to study at a renowned leather school, and a moving speech at a Fundraising Gala honoring her sister by WINGS, a domestic violence organization. Through these moments and more, Chelli must decide the future of her brand and reconcile that future with who she is an artist.
